Lunch with a View

Today, Dad and Mason took Lindsay to Shark Valley so she could experience the 15 mile bike route. They didn't get to view as many alligators as they had hoped however, they did end up with a nice view during lunch. They ate outside at the Everglades Seafood Depot, take a look at their view of the 1,000 Islands.

Mason's First Communion

Mason received his First Holy Communion today at St. Agnes during the 9:00 mass. The church hosted a small reception under the canopy for all 23 children. Afterward, we headed out to brunch at a country club.

Cousin Lindsay Arrives!

We anxiously awaited Lindsay's arrival at the airport.

We were thankful when her flight arrived ahead of schedule.

We headed to a local pizza joint, how cute is the pager to alert us that our table was ready.

A rare moment, we caught Mackenzie laughing aloud to jokes made by the Balloon Artist.

This evening, we were invited to North Naples Middle School for the 6th Grade Awards Ceremony. Congratulations Mackenzie for earning Honor Roll!
After the ceremony, we celebrated at one of our favorite locally-owned ice cream shops.

A Lost Art

This post is dedicated to my mother-in-law, Carolyn Morgan, and the lost art of crochet. Above are just a few of the many items she has made for Mackenzie and I. Fearing that this is becoming a lost art, I decided to take my first crochet class at a local craft store. After a 2 hour class, I was able to create the following swatch.
Now, could I do it again without the help of the instructor, I am not so sure. Luckily, I will be seeing my mother-in-law in June and I know she will be happy to help me. Carolyn, if you read the post, I really want to learn how to make crocheted flowers :)

The Dancing Shoe

At first, Darin and I said we wouldn't do it but we finally "gave in" and purchased professional ballroom dancing shoes. When we first started ballroom dance lessons it was once a week for two hours mostly just for fun. We figured we would learn a new dance or two before the Griffin wedding. That was back in January, wow, how times have changed. Last week alone, we spent six hours either in class or on a dance floor. Are we any good? Probably not but at least we haven't given up!

We're Invited

Lately, checking our mailbox has been rather exciting. With two family weddings only two weeks apart, we have received a number of invitations for bridesmaids luncheons, dinner rehearsals and the weddings. However, we received a special invitation on Friday. Mackenzie has been invited to the North Naples Middle School Awards Ceremony. With straight A's, we assume the invitation is for Honor Roll. I guess we will find out the evening of May 20th.

Welcome

We are the NaplesMorgans and we have a dog (Wagner) who is 7, and he is a Chinese Crested Powder Puff, not the hairless but the double coated kind. Mason is 13, and he is a big fan of basketball and football. I work as a technology teacher at a local elementary school. Darin has his own business called Ascendant Wealth Management. Mackenzie is 16, and she loves to spend her time practicing for drumline and watching movies.
